Glaisdale WI - January

THE first meeting of the year for Glaisdale WI was held this month in the Robinson Institute.
Vickie Ford was in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Dalesfolk lunch had to be cancelled due to the snow and will now be held on Saturday 6 February. The village walk for January has also had to be cancelled due to the snow. The group is going to contact the federation to discuss the WI walk.
A letter was read out from Whitby Hospital thanking the group for the gifts that were sent to them for Christmas. A letter was also read out from Scarborough County Council replying to the letter regarding the reduced visits of the mobile library, nothing has been decided as yet but they can be contacted again.
The speaker for the evening was Tony Richardson who spoke about Victorian Whitby. Mrs Ford gave the vote of thanks.
