ST Matthew's Church Heritage Weekend is on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September. The main focus this year will be on the ironworks including the history and working conditions with plans and pictures. There will be family history records and old photos of the village. On the Saturday Simon Chapman will lead a four-hour walk at 1pm about the mines, details from Jim Muir on 606835. On the Sunday, lunch will follow a benefice Confirmation Service at 10.30am led by the Archbishop of York.
THE next meeting of Grosmont Tuesday Club will be the AGM to be held at the Crossing Club on 7 September. this will be followed by a faith supper.
THE next meeting of St Matthew's PCC will be on Wednesday 1 September at 7pm at Egton Vicarage.
GROSMONT Parish Council meets on Tuesday 14 September at 7.30pm at Grosmont cricket pavilion.

CLUBS
ENJOY an afternoon of fun and games, quizzes and a cup of tea and biscuits and have a go at playing short mat bowling. Grosmont Wednesday Club and short mat bowling afternoons are looking for new members. They meet on alternate Wednesdays in Grosmont Methodist schoolroom at 2pm. Entrance is only 50p and both are open to everyone, wherever they live or whatever age. Contact Pat Howarth on 895538 or just turn up.
GROSMONT Tuesday Club is looking for new members. The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at various venues, depending on the activity involved. Anyone who is interested in joining should either contact Margaret Beesley on 895205 or look for notices in the Co-op window.
