THE village hall trust second annual plant sale will be held on Sunday 18 May, 10am-2pm, tea, coffee and scones at £1 per person, proceeds for the play area and all purpose court. Volunteers for manning tables and helping with teas would be appreciated. Ring Brenda Harrison on 896248.
GOATHLAND PCC welcomes new residents with welcome packs. Sometimes newcomers arrive without being noticed. Ken Croft would be grateful to be told of any new arrivals, ring 896403.

ST Mary's Church will hold an all-day bring and buy sale on Thursday 29 May, 10am-4pm, at the parish hall. Donations for bring and buy stalls, raffle, produce tins and cakes and scones would be appreciated. Helpers are also needed to serve refreshments. Donations can be left with sarah at the vicarage or Alice at Moorgarth (896375). Admission £1.50 adults, £1 children, to include refreshments. For further details ring Sarah on 896144.
THE 200th anniversary celebration of Goathland Primary School will be held on 25 June. Helen Beeforth is hoping to collect memorabilia about the school from past and present pupils, teachers and anyone else who would like to contribute. She would also like any photos she could take copies of. Contact her at 1 Oakfield Avenue.
GOATHLAND Hunt race night at the Salmon Leap Hotel, Sleights, on Friday 16 May, 8pm prompt, refreshments, all welcome.
BRIAN and Susan are allowing the post office to be used as a collection point for donations for Christian Aid Week.

THE children of the village are organising a fund-raising fair in the village hall towards the village play area on Sunday 11 May from 2-4pm. Various stalls and tombola, all welcome.

THE Art Group meets on Mondays at 2pm in the parish hall.
KEEP fit on Tuesdays at 7pm in the parish hall.
BADMINTON and table tennis in the parish hall on Thursdays, 6.30-8.30pm.
THE Good Neighbours Community Transport Scheme operates in the Whitby district with a team of over 40 volunteer drivers who provide transport for those over 60 or registered disabled. More volunteer drivers are needed. If anyone feels they could help will they place contact the clerk to the parish council on 896411.
