AFTER reading the Whitby Gazette regarding the slow response of the ambulance 999 calls, I think the figures are wrong in most cases.
When my daughter was very ill I had to call 999 and they arrived in a few minutes.

They were very efficient and reassuring, one ambulance man even came in the car with extra oxygen.

I’ll never forget how helpful he was.

Later in the month I had to call them out again.

Yes, they came in a few minutes.

They are a marvellous team and are as good as any doctor and by what I have seen in Whitby, they are soon on the scene.

Sadly my daughter had a terminal illness.

The NHS wants to get their own house in order before knocking our ambulance men, all I can say is they are fabulous.
