I write in response to the letter regarding the arrest of a bus driver by a (presumably) intellectually-challenged police officer.
The fact the officer could repeat the gesture in front of the public surely means the officer should have been arrested too.
Clearly, it was beyond this officer to work this out.
The incident however, shows the disturbing fact that in 11 short
years we have gone from a free (but fairish and stable) society to a police state courtesy of New Labour (not to be confused with Labour) with a number of dreadful acts against our liberty by this appalling government on the back of terrorism.
Automatic collection of children and innocent adults’ DNA, suppression of citizens’ rights to demonstrate, powers given to local government and many others to snoop on anyone, check their phone calls, constant threats on TV and other media in the vein of ‘we know where you are’ etc.
The list is a long one.
The incident above personifies the very sinister, dangerous and arrogant government we now have and we can only hope that Brown stays in power – thus ensuring defeat at the next election.
Incidentally, did this officer receive a fixed penalty and a disciplinary hearing about police not breaking the law for parking on a bus stop?
If not, why not?
