PAINTING and drawing are among the wide variety of creative activities enjoyed by youngsters under the age of five who attend sessions of Art Tots at The Pavilion in Whitby and in villages throughout the Esk Valley.
Art Tots owner Helen Panconi, who runs the sessions with co-ordinator Cathryn Millar said: “It started as a holiday play scheme in Whitby in 1998, but then we expanded it and now have weekly sessions in five Esk Valley villages.

“We have between six and 15 children at each session and they enjoy every kind of creative play.

“We cater for children of all abilities including those with special needs.”

The scheme has a voluntary management committee and is funded partly by grants. There is also a fee of £2.50 per child for each session, with a fourth one free when three have been paid for.
