EGTON'S Colin Bailey finished first in the first class section in Scarborough and District Motor Club's recent sporting weekend trial at Harwood Dale.

Len Hutty made his long journey from Camberley worthwhile as he produced his best performance on the big Matchless with nine marks lost.
The only rider to come close to matching Hutty was Ian Hopley from Danby.
Riding a beautifully prepared 250
cc Yamaha Majesty, Hopley proved superb on the long slippy hill climbs.
Easily winning the twin shock class, only the deep rutted climb of section five on Sunday stood in his way of outright victory, but a five on his last lap put paid to his chances and he had to settle for runner-up overall.
Colin Bailey from Egton, riding the 500cc Triumph Twin, also finished second in the twin cylinder class.
Neville Pybus of Whitby also finished runner-up in the two stroke class with a loss of 28 and veteran Alan Poole, from Marske, had a fourth place in the Pre 65 Clubmen. Roger Williams won the air cooled mono class on five marks lost.
This was a brilliant weekend organised by the hard-working Scarborough club with a full entry of 130 riders from all over the country.
Results: Premier, Len Hutty, Matchless 9; Twin Cylinder Class, George Emmott, Triumph 22; 1st Class, Colin Bailey, Trifield 28; Kevin Chapman, Triumph 33; Pre 65 C/men Andrew Hunter, BSA 52; 1st Class, John Dudley, James 58; Neil Anderton, James 67; Alan Poole Greeves 71; Unit Class, John Pattinson, Tiger Cub 42; 1st class, Mike Bowers, BSA 44; Richard Hildrick, BSA 48.
