EGTON School with only 38 pupils may be one of the smallest in the area – but it's big on netball.
The school's netball team pulled off a hat-trick, winning all three Whitby area trophies and has remained undefeated throughout the netball season.
The trio of victories comprised Whitby area small schools trophy, won at a small schools tournament in Lealholm, the Whitby area netball league trophy and the Whitby area knockout trophy.
There are four netball leagues competing in the Whitby area netball league tournament and the winners of each league met at Stakesby School to play off for the title.
Egton played very well and came out undefeated to claim the Whitby area netball league trophy.
The knockout trophy competition started in September involving all the Whitby school netball teams and gradually the teams were knocked out until it came to a final between Egton and Danby.
Egton fought very hard in an extremely close competition and eventually came out winners.
And then as a bonus after completing their netball hat-trick, the school won the small schools athletics trophy at Stakesby School.
Headteacher Liz Orland said: "I'm very proud of the children and absolutely thrilled at their success.
"But the credit should go to Pam Seller, our sports co-ordinator, who has put in a tremendous amount of hard work with the children."
