PRIMARY school children from across the Whitby area were jumping for joy as Eskdale School held a key stage one gymnastics festival.
More than 120 youngsters from 12 schools took part in the events organised by the School Sport Partnership.
Children from Ruswarp, Airy Hill, East Whitby, Sleights, Oakridge, Danby, Castleton, Egton, Stakesby, Fylingdales, Goathland and St Hedda's took part.
Years seven, eight and nine pupils from Eskdale developed their own leadership skills by running the event and coaching the youngsters in body management, floor and vault skills.
Caroline Watson from the Sports Partnership said: "This is always a really popular event, it's not competitive so the children can just come and have a go and experience what gymnastics competitions are like without the pressure of being judged.
"We always have lots of entries for this festival as the children get so much out of it; we now run the event over two afternoons so that we can accommodate all of the entries.
"The Eskdale students did a fantastic job running the event, working really well with the much younger children.
"I'd like to thank everyone who helped to make both afternoons a great success."
