A GLAISDALE teenager is among a trio of rising young cricket stars from the Scarborough and District Development Group who have won top recognition.
Under-15s all-rounder Theo Smith, along with U13s batsman Tom Hoggard and U11s bowler Andrew Rogers, will later this month be presented with Lord's Taverner's players of the year awards by Yorkshire CCC coach Martyn Moxon, in recognition of their displays over the summer.
The trio beat off rivals from other Yorkshire area teams to win the awards, to be handed over at Cleckheaton CC on Friday 20 November.
Smith's outstanding season saw him notch up almost 300 runs and take 11 wickets, with his top performance coming against the Bradford League when the Scarborough player made 72 and took 6-47, including a hat-trick.
